Our New Partnership with Chicken N Pickle

JoJo and I have a very exciting announcement to share…WE ARE PARTNERING WITH OUR FRIENDS AT CHICKEN N PICKLE! JoJo has designed 11 location specific tees representing each of the 11 Chicken N Pickle complexes. She started with the shape of each state, then added design elements such as mountains for the Glendale, AZ location, and cowboy hats for the 4 Texas locations. It was important for CNP that their slogan, “Our Hearts Are Local”, appears on the lower right side of every t-shirt, highlighting their commitment to give back to their communities. The buttery soft, athletic grey, unisex tri-blend t-shirt has CNP on the front left chest, and the back of the tee has “FUN FRIENDSHIP COMMUNITY” arching over each unique state design.

The rapid growth and incredible images of the massive Chicken N Pickle complexes we have seen on Instagram and LinkedIn have always made an impression on me and JoJo. We have been talking for years about visiting one together, and we are currently planning a girls trip to a Chicken N Pickle in the year ahead…but I couldn’t wait that long! A year ago, I finally made it to a Chicken N Pickle! It was a 110 degree September day in Scottsdale, Arizona, so I suggested to my daughter and her husband that we play pickleball indoors at the new Glendale, Arizona Chicken N Pickle about 30 minutes away. As we approached Chicken N Pickle, we were blown away with how massive it was…65,000 square feet! We made a 2 hour reservation online the night before and invited a friend to complete our foursome. Since we were aware that there are lots of activities in addition to pickleball that we could enjoy before our pickleball reservation, we arrived an hour early to play corn hole and ping pong—the perfect warm-up for pickleball! Nearby, we could watch pickleball games on 6 outdoor courts which were full of Arizonans braving the heat. The afternoon was getting hotter so it felt great when we entered the air-conditioned pickleball facility for our reservation.

The 5 indoor courts had plenty of windows and natural light. The acrylic non slip coating court surfaces were in perfect condition, and the spacious courts were individually fenced-off. There were tables where you could spectate and enjoy a bite or a beverage. My daughter Steph and her husband Nate were relatively new to pickleball, every once in a while I could convince them to play their mom’s favorite sport. At Chicken N Pickle, they had a completely new perspective…it was visually stunning, perfectly maintained, and the staff and guests were all having an amazing time. I was absolutely thrilled that it only took one visit to Chicken N Pickle, and suddenly they were all-in and smitten with pickleball!
We completed our day at the two-story, family-friendly, Chicken N Pickle sports bar and shared fried pickles (a must!) and ordered craft cocktails and local beer. We enjoyed a variety of delicious meals including…spicy chicken sandwiches, quesadillas, and ribs. Everything on the chef-driven menu was fantastic and made from scratch. We had the absolute best day at Chicken N Pickle, Glendale!

That night, I was looking at the other Chicken N Pickle locations on LinkedIn, and I came across the founder of CNP, Dave Johnson. I messaged him and told him that we were very impressed with Chicken N Pickle, and I sent a pic of me and my daughter from our fun visit to Glendale CNP. I also mentioned that if he was ever interested, jojo+lo Pickleball would love to collaborate with them. He responded immediately, and within a week we had a google meeting with Dave and the President of CNP, Kelli Alldredge. JoJo prepared a presentation board with designs specific to CNP that they were really excited about, and we all just hit it off.
Can you believe that Chicken N Pickle is working on their 16th location and that they are on track to have 40-50 locations? As Chicken N Pickle continues to grow…we will create new designs for all of their locations. We love our collaboration with Chicken N Pickle for so many reasons. First and foremost, they have an incredible team of talented people who are passionate about making sure CNP provides an outstanding, memorable pickleball experience for every guest. We also love that their “Our Hearts Are Local” campaign is dedicated to strengthening their communities through philanthropic acts and giving, which aligns with our core values at jojo+lo. We love that they are the most inclusive pickleball destination for the most inclusive sport in the world. Of course, we really love that now they have the trendiest jojo+lo t-shirts for each of their 11 locations.
